“Sedation e-Learning Database and Training / Education” (SeDaTE) enables a hospital or healthcare system to deliver video-based education on safe sedation practices over the Internet and/or their own Intranet. The video is organized and separated in nine sections. The nine sections cover the same material published in the “Practice Guidelines for Sedation and Analgesia by Non-anesthesiologists” developed by the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Accompanying the video are “Supplemental Materials”. The “Supplemental Materials” can be reviewed at any time before, during, or after the video, accommodating the different preferences of adult learners.

“Course Notes” appear next to the video in the user interface that then prompt the viewer when to review the “Supplemental Materials” as the material in these written documents are addressed in the video. We can incorporate your organization‘s “Policy & Procedures” as the “Supplemental Materials” if requested.

SeDaTE tracks participants’ progress through the course, allows them to log out and subsequently log back in without losing their place, tests their expertise on the subject matter, asks them to complete a compliance statement that they’ve reviewed the course and accompanying materials, and to evaluate the course to then receive CME or CNE credit while allowing administrators to evaluate how successfully SeDaTE is being implemented in their organization.

The evaluations for the Course are aggregated and summarized in real time, allowing customers to see exactly what their practitioners think about the Course. We guarantee your satisfaction with the evaluations after a 90-day introductory trial period or you may cancel your contract with 30-days written notice.

SeDaTE is designed to be incorporated into the approval process for non-anesthesiologists who provide sedation in a variety of healthcare settings. It is accredited for Continuing Medical (CME) credit by the Department of Professional and Public Health Education of the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System. Certificates are automatically generated and links to these certificates are e-mailed to participants and accessible to administrators 24/7.

Why SeDaTE?

  • Standardizes the educational and approval process for non-anesthesiologists who administer sedation
  • Automates the administrative tasks associated with approving non-anesthesiologists who administer sedation
  • Provides a secure, searchable, database allows immediate access to determine if a non-anesthesiologist is approved to administer sedation and when that approval expires: this database can be searched by name, facility, profession (MD, RN, other), department, procedure area or any other pre-determined criteria
  • Automates data gathering and statistical analysis to help drive Performance Improvement and continuing education activities
  • Meets and exceeds current applicable Joint Commission standards.

Each customer who purchases this product will have a web site and database specific to their organization, be you an individual facility or a large healthcare system.

The introductory page that each customer sees looks something like what you see below; however, this text can be modified to suit each customer’s needs.

Welcome to the YOUR NAME HERE, your first step to becoming properly trained, qualified and approved to administer sedation in the System. Before we get started, please tell us a little about yourself.

Notes about above:

  • Three types of defined users can be given access to SeDaTE.
    • The first, “practitioners”, view the Course and go through the other steps of the approval process.
    • The second, “administrators”, have ongoing access to a database of sedating-approved practitioners within their organization.
    • The third type, “super-administrators”, receive basic statistical analysis from the software; e.g., how many RN’s missed question number 3 on the post-test, so they can focus Performance Improvement efforts and education needs as appropriate.
  • Both administrators and super-administrators have access to the evaluations for the Course that are aggregated and summarized in real time, allowing authorized personnel to see exactly what practitioners think about the Course. We guarantee your satisfaction with these numbers after a 90-day introductory trial period or you may cancel your contract with 30-days written notice.
  • The software engine that drives SeDaTE is content-agnostic and “plug and play”; fancy distance learning verbiage that basically means that if your organization has other videos it requires employees to watch and demonstrate mastery of the content through a post-test, we can easily and economically convert these pre-existing videos into similar web-based courses.
  • Please “click” on any of the links above to continue your tour of SeDaTE. Thank you for your time and consideration.
